Plot: Sentenced to die in the electric chair for murdering his girlfriends' rapists, Tenshu somehow survives the execution attempt. Astonished prison officials give Tenshu a choice: face the chair again or volunteer for several barbaric experiments, one of which puts him against an alien creature. A stylish martial arts and horror film, ALIVE is based on the famous comic by Tsutomu Takahashi. Director Ryuhei Kitamura is the mad genius behind equally dark films VERSUS, DUEL, and THE MESSENGER AND AZUMI.
