While you can see the makers of this had good intentions going in it's obvious their want of large-scale effects took over in the weak finale. ... It's watchable, but it's nowhere near the 1963 film. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
Watching this film, I feel as though the people who made it have lost all faith in their audience's ability to be scared by the unknown--so they show us everything, and made a movie that was juuuust this side of boring. And--for me, anyway--the ending reeks of fake sentiment. --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)

The Haunting is a great movie to watch with a girl because girls scare easy and lay easy when scared. Its not much use anywhere else, even though its a real cool movie which does entertain me allot it ain't nothing like a movie that draws you in. -- (terrorwatch.net)
