Plot: Finally putting an end to their days as slaves to the hustle-and-bustle of city life, Gothamites Cooper Tilson (DENNIS QUAID) and his wife, Leah (SHARON STONE), pack up their kids and all their possessions and move into a recently repossessed mansion in the sticks of New York State. Once grand and elegant, the Cold Creek Manor is now a shambles, but Cooper and Leah have plenty of time to renovate. All’s well until a series of terrifying incidents at the house lead the Tilsons to wonder who used to live in their new home — and to discover what dark secrets are hidden inside.

 External Reviews
external linkCold Creek Manor is one of those cases of the trailer making it look a whole lot scarier than it actually is. 2/4

external linkIn this predictable Mike Figgis thriller, Sharon Stone and Dennis Quaid buy a cute old country house. Then the creepy guy with the bed-head 'do shows up!
--Stephanie Zacharek (Salon)

external link"Cold Creek Manor" completely lacks thrills and is short on suspense because the story doesn't allow for any plot twists or new revelations. Wait, scratch that. Some new things are discovered but if I were to reveal them then the mystery would be given away. Please don't interpret that last sentence as an invitation for you to see the film and see for yourself. 3/10
--Scott Spicciati (

external linkIt's interesting that the folks behind Cold Creek Manor's marketing campaign are trying to trick people into thinking it's a mystery/thriller, somewhere along the lines of The Sixth Sense, because it's really not. At all. 2.5/4
--David Nusair (Reel Film Reviews)

external linkA clichéd, implausible thriller set in the small town tranquility of upstate New York, Cold Creek Manor stars Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone as the Tilsons, a pair of Manhattanites who trade in their apartment for a pad in the sticks. 2/5
--Jamie Russell (BBC Films)

external linkThe whole reminded me a lot of THE HAUNTING, with a somewhat decent, somewhat creepy start and apparent goal to transform into a real thriller, while ultimately fizzling out into your typical man-on-the-vengeful-warpath scenario, stupid moves and all. 4/10

external linkBelow-average, occasionally laughable thriller that just about qualifies as a ‘good bad movie’. 2/5
--Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)

external linkThis sort of below-par rube gothic may play well out in the sticks, but we city slickers like us somethin' more sophisticated and original, y'hear... 3/10
--Anton Bitel (Movie Gazette)

external linkDennis Quaid , Sharon Stone and Deacon Frost himself, Stephen Dorff star in this wanna-be gothic chiller that wouldn't know scary if it started eating it's skin. 0.5/5
--Lyle Henretty (
