Jim (JASON BIGGS) and Michelle (ALYSON HANNIGAN) are getting married.
With East Great Falls High, foreign exchange students, band camp, crazy glue and summer college vacations now a thing of the past, Jim and Michelle’s friends and family are ready to help usher the couple down the aisle and over the threshold into adulthood.
Michelle wants the wedding to be perfect. Not exactly an easy task, even with everyone on their best behavior and getting along…which probably isn’t going to happen.
Michelle’s knock-out sister, Cadence (JANUARY JONES), has flown in to help out her sis as Maid of Honor. And once Stifler (SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT) and Finch (EDDIE KAYE THOMAS) catch sight of Cadence—the war to woo is on. With all rules out the window, Stifler turns on his charismatic charm to nab the babe.
Stifler? “Charismatic charm”?
Cautioned to tone it down by a nervous Jim—who already has his hands full trying to impress Michelle’s somewhat stuffy parents, Harold and Mary (FRED WILLARD and DEBORAH RUSH)—Stifler abandons his customary plan of attack and becomes the charming would-be boyfriend of every nice girl’s dreams…which leaves Finch with no choice but to play the bad boy, with Cadence torn between perfect gentleman Stifler and that low-life Finch.
It’s good for Jim that some things don’t change, as Jim’s Dad (EUGENE LEVY) is an ever-present constant, dispensing well-meaning (but sometimes clueless) advice to his son and future daughter-in-law, occasionally crossing the line into the land of “too much information” concerning him and Jim’s Mom (MOLLY CHEEK).
Also confounding the groom and bride-to-be’s rush to the altar are Kevin (THOMAS IAN NICHOLAS), Jim and Finch’s trek to chase down the perfect wedding dress for Michelle; an unexpected bachelor party complete with naughty “maid” and sexy female “cop” (what’s a party without strippers?); dancing lessons, a church full of dead flowers, personal grooming mishaps and one, big, hairy wedding cake.
Welcome now to the thrilling climax of the American Pie saga. Whom God would join, let no hilarious and irreverent situation put asunder.
Forever hold your piece.

With East Great Falls High now just a memory, the kids have grown into young adults ready to wreak havoc with a new rite of passage - Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan) are getting married! Stifler (Scott) plans to be there (bridesmaids!), and more importantly to throw the ultimate bachelor party (strippers!). Finch (Thomas) is all for the hedonistic rituals, but not for letting Stifler steal the maid of honor, who happens to be Michelle's sexy younger sister, Cadence (Jones). While everybody else sweats and frets, Jim's Dad (Levy) is cool as ever, dispensing advice that no one wants to hear and getting ready for one of the best days of his life.

The producers of the American Pie movies pushed their luck with a third slice of their lucrative raunchy comedy franchise, but American Wedding cooked up surprisingly well. It's the sourest serving of Pie, with half of the original cast missing, and there's something undeniably desperate about comedic highlights (involving dog poop, a lusty old lady, two strippers to offset the absence of Shannon Elizabeth, and the ill-advised use of a trimming razor) that arise more from obligation than inspiration, on the assumption that another penile mishap is guaranteed to please. And yet, that's just what this movie does for devoted Pie-munchers: it gives 'em what they want, especially when the notorious Stifler (Seann William Scott) nearly ruins the frantic nuptials of Jim (Jason Biggs) and his band-camping sweetheart Michelle (Alyson Hannigan). Eugene Levy and Eddie Kaye Thomas also return for some reliable comic relief, but the one who's laughing most is three-time Pie writer Adam Herz--all the way to the bank. --Jeff Shannon

In this final chapter of the AMERICAN PIE teen comedy trilogy, mishap magnet Jim (Jason Biggs) and former band geek Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) have decided to tie the knot. Jim's friends Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) are on hand to help with preparations, but the trio soon gets an unwanted fourth wheel in the form of the eternally obnoxious Steve "Stifmeister" Stifler (Seann William Scott). Meanwhile, Michelle's lovely younger sister, Cadence (January Jones), arrives and quickly becomes the object of affection for both the scholarly Finch and the loudmouthed Stifler. Who will win the heart of Cadence? And how many things will go wrong before Jim and Michelle walk down the aisle? (Hint: A lot.)
By once again balancing the lewd and the crude with the touching, AMERICAN WEDDING continues the charmingly funny yet gross streak of the first two films. Anchored by creator/screenwriter Adam Herz's obvious love for the characters, the film begins with a hilarious proposal scene and keeps the antics coming. As with past films, Biggs and Scott are the instigators of most outrageous acts, but the movie also gives ample screen time to comedy veterans Eugene Levy (once again playing Jim's always-understanding father) and Fred Willard (who portrays Michelle's overprotective dad). A fitting finale to the series, AMERICAN WEDDING doesn't involve pie, but that doesn't mean something can't happen to the cake....
