Arnold Schwarzenegger makes an unprepared cameo in the film; he happened to be walking past the set and was asked to make a quick appearance.
The Rock used his cousin as a body double who then broke his ankle in a scene where Beck and Travis tumble down a hillside in a jeep.
During a location scout in the Brazilian jungle, the director Peter Berg and his three man crew were held up at gunpoint and robbed of all of their cash, computers and valuables. After that their shoot location changed to Hawaii!
