JOHN HERZFELD brings the edge-of-your seat thriller into the in-your-face Media Age with the stylishly searing 15 Minutes, a look at the dangerous cross-roads where cops, criminals and television cameras meet. Herzfeld previously wrote and directed the feature film 2 Days in The Valley, an ensemble black comedy starring Jeff Daniels, Teri Hatcher, Glenne Headly, Marsha Mason, Paul Mazursky, James Spader, Eric Stoltz, Keith Carradine and introducing Charlize Theron for the first time. The film was singled out by critics for its ingenious structure, original style and deft mix of insight and action.
Herzfeld went on to win the Directors Guild of America Award and an Emmy nomination for his HBO film "Don King: Only in America" starring Ving Rhames and Vondie Curtis-Hall in the story of one of the most influential and colorful personalities in American sports history. In addition, the film was nominated for two Golden Globes, won the Broadcast Film Critics Award, the Writers Guild of America Award and the coveted Peabody Award, the broadcast industry's most prestigious honor.
As a feature film writer, Herzfeld's other credits include Voices and Hard Feelings. He has also written and directed several distinguished and highly-rated television films, including "The Ryan White Story," "The Preppie Murder," "A Father's Revenge," "Stoned" (for which he won a directing Emmy) and "Daddy." Among his additional television credits are "The Fifth Corner" (which he wrote, produced and directed), the miniseries "Remember" and HBO's "Tales from the Crypt."
