Tagline: The first futuristic monster movie in 3-D.
Plot: In the future, cities are ravaged by atomic fallout and controlled by evil corporations who have developed a mutant pair of flesh-eating parasites. One is feeding inside the man who created it.The other has escaped. Now with the help of a young woman left orphaned in the wasteland (Demi Moore in her first starring role), a scientist on the run must destroy these horrific creatures before they can reproduce. But the more a parasite feeds, the bigger it becomes. And the more it grows, the hungrier – and angrier – it gets…Demi Moore stars in this futuristic horror movie as Patricia Welles, a young woman struggling to get by in a post-apocalyptic world where a flesh eating parasite is terrorizing the city. When she meets up with Dr. Paul Dean, she learns the horrible secret behind the government's role in the creature's development and that Dr. Dean has an identical parasite feeding inside him. Determined to destroy the parasites, Dr. Dean and Patricia try to control the one inside him while they destroy the other before it gets too big and powerful to be stopped. Originally shown in 3-D, PARASITE is campy fun that features some genuine shocks as well as great effects by Stan Winston, who went on to do JURASSIC

This mixture of horror and an apocalyptic film is a shoddy effort that's completely pointless and takes every opportunity it can to pander to its 3D gimmick. It's also quite boring and has one really junky finale. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
That's right, Demi Moore got her start in this dog that combines "Mad Max" and "Alien" and packaged it into a 3-D movie.-- (eSplatter.com)
A surprisingly decent early 80's horror flick. If you love cheesy low-budget horror (like me) then you'll probably enjoy it like I did, but who knows! 6/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
