The silly parts of the plot are forgivable. The weak special effects are forgivable. The story works and the final twist surprisingly caught me off guard though it's by no means a complicated story. Still, I found the movie refreshing. "The Order" is oneof the--if not most original movie of the year. 8/10--Scott Spicciati (Movie-Vault.com)
The Order is an engrossing, atmospheric religious thriller that illustrates moral dilemmas. The technical aspects of the film are wonderful i.e. set, light camera work ECT as well as the acting. The film suffers a little bit from slow pace, and slightly bad writing of unneeded subplot, and cliché situations. B+--Michael Miecielica (MovieJustice)
Writer-director Brian Helgeland wrote "L.A. Confidential," but he also wrote "The Postman." Certainly a dark spirit is hovering over this inane production. Something has sucked the life out of it. --Jami Bernard (New York Daily News)

A decent movie, that's more of a renter than anything, but even then I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. It's got a decent story and performances, but there wasn't much going on and it was ultimately too slow. *shrugs* 6/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
If you're looking for a movie where sin takes the physical form of a jellyfish and considers Peter "Sceamers" Weller as a viable candidate to replace John Paul II, then brothers and sisters, you have found salvation. Amen. --Lyle Henretty (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
