Plot: Based on a true story, this film focuses on the plight of the nearly 2,000 Jewish refugees who attempted to escape from Nazi Germany during WWII. They boarded an ocean liner bound for Cuba. Upon their arrival, however, Cuba's president denied entry to the fugitives, and attempts to dock at other countries (including the U.S.) proved equally fruitless. The passengers were forced to return to Germany... and confront death.
