Plot: Peter Sellers stars in this comedic caper as Dodger Lane, a wily thief currently serving the last couple weeks of a prison sentence along with two of his partners in crime. Always looking for a way to make a big score, Dodger has concocted an ingenious plan for a jewel heist while maintaining a rock solid alibi: conduct the crime from inside the prison. With the help of a morally lax clergyman named Soapy Stevens, the trio plan to skip out prison, steal a maharajah's jewels and sneak back behind bars all on the day before they're due to be released. Unfortunately, a new and borderline psychotic prison guard arrives a few days before the heist and proceeds to make life behind bars a little more uncomfortable than Dodger and company would like.
