Plot: Dracula 2000's update begins with team of techno-savvy thieves who break into a high- security vault, hoping to steal priceless artworks. To their utter disbelief, the vault instead hides a well-protected crypt, a crypt that has not been opened in 100 years, a crypt that will unleash Dracula's ancient terror upon the modem world — and all who come into contact with him.

Dracula, freed at last from a century in confinement, finds himself in a 21st century of chaos and temptation, of Virgin record stores and subterranean nightclubs, where he fits right in. His first destination is the United States — the ultimate location for his charismatic seductions of beautiful young women and his unceasing quest for power — but there is another reason he has come here. external linkThe first twenty minutes of the film are crafted in such a great way that I was surprisingly condemning naysayers of the picture. Then, once the action finds is way to New Orleans, things go downhill - FAST.

external linkAs it stands it's a mostly watchable time that's not bad, just so-so and it does manage a twist that works at times. Butler isn't nearly menacing enough as the bloodsucker of lore and the Matrix inspired finale is just lame... 2/4

external linkIt's a cut above most teen-focused horror movies, and actually seems to have a little respect for its audience's intellect. That alone is a welcome change. 3/5
--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)

external link"Dracula 2000" is a slick movie and has enough vampire punch to make it more than a worthwhile watch.

external linkAn okay vampire film with some cool scenes here and there. Needs a lot of work on the plot. Could have been a lot better. Not really recommended, unless you got nothing else to rent. 5/10
