Driven wild with jealousy because of his wife's affair, Gary's repressed anger triggers a violent heart attack. A heart donated by a young man killed in a motorcycle accident gives Gary a new lease on life and hopes of winning back his wife. Still humiliated by his wife's continued affair, he goes in search of the heart that is driving him and befriends the boy's mother, a deeply religious woman who becomes drawn into his obsessive desire for retribution with it's inevitably violent outcome.
