Plot: Flanked by fabulous computer-generated battle scenes that would make BRAVEHEART proud, THE MUMMY RETURNS is a fast-paced sequel that surpasses the hit 1999 original, both directed by Stephen Sommers. Virtually the entire cast has come back for another exciting go-round, this time trying to prevent Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) from gaining control of the Bracelet of Anubis and taking on the Scorpion King (the Rock) for control of the world. I'm not sure if it's better than the first film, but it is pretty enjoyable as the first. Rather predictable, but interesting to watch. Lots of action and humor. Check this film out if you've seen the first or if you want a good adventure flick. 7/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
It's all sorts of Indiana Jones-type adventure in this watchable follow-up that might not be quite as fun and does have moments of weakness but delivers with decent effects, a few exciting scenes and a general sense of 'don't take this seriously'. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
