external linkTaking "Duel" and "The Hitcher" as his starting points, director John Dahl fashions "Roadkill" into a taut thriller that knows exactly which buttons to push to get a response. 4/5

external linkThere are a few genuinely exciting moments, but they peter out as the film progresses and the movie stumbles into increasingly implausible territory. 63/100

external linkWhile not very original it's an enjoyable ride with plenty to like. Of course in the end it's as gutless as a lot of horror movies today are, something that's a real shame, while it's great fun it could have been really fantastic if that darned script hadn't been so damn predictable.
--Sonny Fernandez (

external link"Joy Ride" is one of those amalgamation-of-genres movies, featuring horror, action, suspense, teen comedy, etc. Sometimes that's annoying, but it works here.

external linkThis is a great thriller, many action packed driving scene and many great cheap scares, the action scenes were so well done, and mixed with the great acting, it puts you on the edge of your seat. 3.5/5
