Taking "Duel" and "The Hitcher" as his starting points, director John Dahl fashions "Roadkill" into a taut thriller that knows exactly which buttons to push to get a response. --Jamie Russell (BBC Films)
There are a few genuinely exciting moments, but they peter out as the film progresses and the movie stumbles into increasingly implausible territory. 63/100--Brian Webster (Apollo Guide)
While not very original it's an enjoyable ride with plenty to like. Of course in the end it's as gutless as a lot of horror movies today are, something that's a real shame, while it's great fun it could have been really fantastic if that darned script hadn't been so damn predictable.--Sonny Fernandez (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
"Joy Ride" is one of those amalgamation-of-genres movies, featuring horror, action, suspense, teen comedy, etc. Sometimes that's annoying, but it works here.-- (eSplatter.com)
This is a great thriller, many action packed driving scene and many great cheap scares, the action scenes were so well done, and mixed with the great acting, it puts you on the edge of your seat. --Mr Disgusting (Bloody-Disgusting.com)

Pretty good film. Had a lot of tense scenes and it keeps you interested from the beginning. Check it out now or wait for the DVD with the deleted scenes. 7/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
