Plot: Drawing on material from three of his favorite artists, acclaimed director Wim Wenders (WINGS OF DESIRE) offers his own personal take on the blues in this Martin Scorsese produced release. The three artists in question are Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, and J.B. Lenoir. Perhaps not household names, but as Wenders deftly illustrates, their collective legacies have been highly influential on the music world as a whole. Using archive footage of some stunning performances, the director also stages some key events from their lives, and speaks to contemporary musicians about the blues and the artists in question.
