Credits

Amy Poehler in Envy (2004)

AMY POEHLER (Natalie Vanderpark) is best known for her work on NBC’s seminal late-night comedy series “Saturday Night Live.” Poehler has created and played several of the show’s more outlandish characters during her three years as a regular. On the big screen, she will next be seen in the film “Mean Girls,” written by her SNL castmate Tina Fey and directed by Mark S. Waters.

Poehler came to the SNL cast from the Upright Citizens Brigade, a sketch/improv troupe originally formed in Chicago. Relocating to New York, the troupe had a sketch show on Comedy Central for three seasons, on which Poehler was both a writer and performer. The Upright Citizens Brigade also launched a theater, which is widely regarded as the premiere sketch/improv comedy venue in New York City.

In addition to her work on “Saturday Night Live,” Poehler has made memorable television appearances on such shows as “Late Night with Conan O'Brien,” as the recurring character Stacey, Andy Richter’s little sister; and “Undeclared.” Her previous film credits include “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” starring SNL alumnus Rob Schneider, and “Wet Hot American Summer.”
