Final Destination Reviews |
...I keep going on about how much I love this movie so you probably started to wonder why I only gave it four stars... well, while the movie is really good, it gets kind of slow and uninteresting towards the end. This is still one of my all time favourite slashers though, and I will probably watch it a few more times. [read review] --AnthroFred (SlasherPool)
I'm just curious if the other ending would have been better. Hmmmmm... Well, I'll just have to wait for it on DVD, hopefully. I would have given this film a 10 instead of a 9, but I'm really picky about giving out 10's. So, basically this is a pretty good movie and you'll get your money's worth. I recommend this film to everyone. [read review] 8/10 --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
James Wong does a fantastic job with this movie, the camera shots are great, and he brings suspense to scenes where you know something is going to happen. The acting produced by Wong’s characters is awesome and convincing. [read review] --Mr Disgusting (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
The basis of the story may be nothing new, with each character getting knocked off one by one, but what makes this better than your average flick is a constant sense of humour and some clever twists on the norm. [read review] --Ben Falk (BBC Films)
With good acting by the young leads, stylish direction, a premise that's interesting and some really cool death scenes this one is way above most of its type. Director/co-writer Wong has made a fun ride. [read review] -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
An excellent showcase for original ideas, new talent, and great writing and filmmaking, Final Destination does for air travel and John Denver songs what Jaws did for swimming in the ocean. [read review] --Cortney Fusco (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
Borrowing heavily from modern films, but harkening back to the good old days of supernatural horror, "Final Destination" is a truly terrifying movie made with style and wit. [read review] --Ted Geoghegan (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
...the film is only partially effective in impressing a feeling of impending doom on the audience. All the pieces are here, but it seems hollow to me. [read review] 62/100 --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
It's all style, no guts. Still, it's a fun ride and in a year that didn't see much quality horror product, it was a welcome addition to the genre. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
While the premise is interesting, there’s really nothing about it that sets Final Destination apart from other teen horror flicks. [read review] 72/100 --Brian Webster (Apollo Guide)
