Tagline: Evil Loves To Party.
Plot: Steven Price (a very hammy Rush) is a wealthy amusement park owner who invites several strangers to his shrewish wife's birthday party, this year held in the abandoned Vannacutt Institute for the Mentally Insane. There, he offers a prize of one million dollars to each party-goer who can spend the entire night in the creepy and cavernous building. As Mr. and Mrs. Price play a bitter game of cat and mouse, the guests begin to think there are more ominous forces at work, especially after the body count begins to creep higher and higher. A remake of the 1958 low-budgeter starring Vincent Price.

Fairly entertaining stuff is stylishly directed by Malone with some neat production design and manages to be mostly fun with some creepy mood despite the fact there's some plot holes. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
House on Haunted Hill knows it's nothing but trashy fun, and doesn't seem to particularly care if the audience agrees. 62/100--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
While not as fun as the Price original, this does deliver lots and lots of decent horror effects, and is definitely more interesting than "PG-13" haunted house flicks like "Poltergeist" and "The Haunting".-- (eSplatter.com)
You never know what might pop up. Sometimes you do feel that it was put together quickly and some of the situations could have been explored more but it’s been a while since I’ve seen a decent haunted house flick and this one with all it’s flaws is stillan entertaining ride. --'The Arrow' (Arrow)
