MATTHEW BRODERICK portrays Walter Kresby, the supportive husband of Joanna Eberhart, who takes desperate measures to save his marriage.
A two-time Tony Award-winning stage actor, Broderick’s career has spanned theater, film and television with impressive versatility. His upcoming films include "The Last Shot,” for director Jeff Nathanson as well as "Marie and Bruce,” opposite Julianne Moore.
A New York native, Broderick made his professional stage debut opposite his father, James Broderick. at age 17 in the production of ‘On Valentine’s Day.” Following his performance in Harvey Fierstein’s "Torch Song Trilogy,” Broderick won his first Tony Award for Neil Simon’s "Brighton Beach Memoirs” and later starred in the play’s sequel "Biloxi Blues.” He won his second Tony for his role as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” Most recently, he staffed opposite Nathan Lane in the record-breaking Broadway run of “The Producers,” for which he was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actor in a musical.
Broderick starred in the critically acclaimed film "You Can Count on Me,” opposite Laura Linney and earned considerable acclaim starring opposite Reese Witherspoon in the Independent Spirit Award-winning political satire "Election.” Among his additional film credits are "Godzilla,” "Addicted to Love,” "The Cable Guy,” "Inspector Gadget," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off,” “Glory,” "WarGames” and "The Lion King,” as the adult voice of Simba. Additional credits include "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle,” "Biloxi Blues,” "Max Dugan Returns," "Project X,” "Torch Song Trilogy,” "Farni1y Business,” "The Ereshman” and "The Night We Never Met."
In addition to his stage. screen and Broadway credits, Broderick starred in the recent ABC movie musical “The Music Man.” He appeared in the Showtime film “Master Harold and the Boys” and received an Emmy nomination for the TNT production of David Mamet’s “A Life in the Theater,” opposite Jack Lemmon.
