Two-time Oscar nominee EDWARD NORTON (Jackie Teller) burst on the scene with a riveting performance in his Academy Award nominated debut in "Primal Fear," opposite Richard Gere.
Raised in Columbia, Maryland, and educated at Yale University, this versatile young actor was captivated, at age five, by a performance of "Cinderella," and later by Sir Ian McKellen's "Playing Shakespeare." This propelled him into an acting career and an off-Broadway role in playwright Edward Albee's "Fragments."
After months of luckless searching, the producers of "Primal Fear" came upon this young stage actor and cast him in the pivotal role of a boy battling dual personalities. He was next seen in Woody Allen's "Everyone Says I Love You," opposite Drew Barrymore and Goldie Hawn. This was followed by Milos Forman's "The People vs. Larry Flynt," opposite Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love. For his work in these three films, Norton received Best Support Actor awards from National Board of Review, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Boston Society of film Critics and Society of Texas Film Critics.
In 1998, Norton starred in John Dahl's "Rounders," opposite Matt Damon; and "American History X," for which he received an Academy Award Best Actor nomination. The following year, he was seen in David Fincher's "Fight Club," opposite Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter; and "American History X," for which he received an Academy Award Best Actor nomination. The following year, he was seen in David Finche's "Fight club," opposite Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter; last year he made his directorial debut with the comedy "Keeping the Faith," in which he starred opposite Ben Stiller and Jenna Elfman.
