Plot: Adapted from Lillian Hellman's gripping play, this wartime drama illustrates the dangers of complacency in light of the fascist threat. German patriot Kurt Muller, who works in the anti-fascist underground resistance, flees with his family to Washington, D.C. to stay with relatives. While in America, he continues to raise funds for the cause, until an opportunistic man attempts to extort money from him in return for keeping his identity a secret. Then Nazi agents begin to stalk him, and the Muller family must make a painful decision about their future.
