Plot: This is Cecil B. De Mille's version of the trouble and hardships involved in the building of the famous transcontinental railroad. Jeff Butler is hired to insure that the Union Pacific is completed and arrives at its destination in Ogden on time. He faces enormous odds including derailments, a banker who will stop at nothing to sabotage the project, an old Civil War army buddy who is working for the bad guys, and hostile Indians.
