Plot: Alec Baldwin and Jessica Lange star in this CBS Playhouse 90's rendition of Tennessee Williams' acclaimed play. Faded southern beauty Blanche Dubois arrives hastily at her sister Stella's squalid French Quarter apartment. Stella and her coarse, brutish husband Stanley are bewildered by Blanche's sudden visit. Almost immediately, sexual tensions and class differences erupt between Stanley and Blanche. Her high-and-mighty manner is an insult to his work-a-day lifestyle. When he learns that she lost her teaching position for frequently "meeting with strange men," he discovers there's more to Blanche than meets the eye.
