Plot: Liza Minnelli stars in this enlightening song and dance gala about growing old but staying young inside. Mavis (Minnelli) signs up to teach tap dancing at a church, but when she’s bombarded with a clumsy group of problem-ridden enrollees, she realizes she’s in for more than she bargained for. As Mavis and her students rehearse for the big year-end recital, they confess to their frustrations of womanhood, bond together and are transformed into a formidable dance troupe.Director Lewis Gilbert brilliantly brings Richard Harris’s musical STEPPING OUT from the stage to the big screen.
