Plot: Psychiatrist Larry Livingston (Jeff Bridges) and his television actress wife Jo (Farrah Fawcett) have two children and an unsuccessful marriage. Three years after their divorce, Larry falls in love with a young widow, Beth Goodwin (Alice Krige) who is a talented photographer. The new couple discovers that their marriage will not be complete until they learn to relate to their children and step-children as well as understand their own pasts. SEE YOU IN THE MORNING is an emotional film, written by director Pakula, and based on semi-autobiographical material, of which themes are a departure from his main body of work of conspiracy dramas and suspense thrillers. The film shines a gentle light on the tangled relationships that result when families break up and form new units, and the growth both parents and children need to undergo to find a second chance at happiness.
