DYLAN MCDERMOTT is currently seen on the hit, Emmy Award-winning television series "The Practice" as idealistic defense attorney Bobby O'Donnell. He won a 1999 Golden Globe for his portrayal.
Born in Connecticut and raised in New York City, McDermott first developed an interest in acting in high school, due partly to the encouragement of his stepmother Eve Ensler. A talented playwright, Ensler convinced him of his natural talent and one of McDermott's first appearances on stage came during the production of Ensler's original play "Scooncat." Earning his drama degree at Fordham University, McDermott joined the prestigious Neighborhood playhouse in New York where he seized the chance to play Wykowski Selridge in Neil Simon's Broadway production "Biloxi Blues."
In 1993, McDermott received numerous accolades for his roles as Clint Eastwood's secret partner in director Wolfgang Petersen's In the Line of Fire (Castle Rock/Columbia), propelling him to the vanguard of Hollywood's leading men. He then starred alongside renowned director Sir Richard Attenborough in the John Hughes 1994 remake of Miracle in 34th Street co-starring Elizabeth Perkins; and portrayed the villainous John Stark in The Cowboy Way opposite Woody Harrelson and Keifer Sutherland.
McDermott's extensive film work also includes Paramount Picture's Home for the Holidays, directed by Jodie Foster and co-starring Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr; and Destiny Turns on the Radio opposite Nancy Travis and Quentin Tarantino. Recently McDermott starred opposite Matthew Perry and Neve Campbell in the Warner Brothers romantic comedy, Three To Tango.
