RICHARD JENKINS (Walter) reunites with the Farrelly Brothers after his cameo role as the apathetic psychiatrist in "There's Something About Mary" and his co-starring role of a shady cop pursuing Jim Carrey in their forthcoming release, "Me, Myself & Irene."
Jenkins recently completed a role in "The Barber Project," from the Coen Brothers. He also co-starred in Scott Hicks' motion picture adaptation of the bestselling novel "Snow Falling on Cedars," Sydney Pollack's romantic drama, "Random Hearts," and Mike Nichols's "What Planet Are You From?"
Jenkins' other film credits include Nichols' thriller "Wolf," "One Night at McCool's," "The Impostors," "The Mod Squad," "It Could Happen to You," "Absolute Power," "How to Make An American Quilt," "The Witches of Eastwick," "Indian in the Cupboard," "Little Nikita," "Undercover Blues," "Blaze," "Sea of Love," "Stealing Home," "The Manhattan Project," "Silverado," "On Valentine's Day," "Hannah and Her Sisters," "Blue Steel" and "Eddie." Jenkins was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award as Best Supporting Actor for his work in the 1996 comedy, "Flirting with Disaster."
His television appearances include HBO's "And the Band Played On," the miniseries "Alex Haley's Queen," "Out on the Edge," "Into Thin Air: Death on Everest," "Getting Out," "In the Line of Duty: The F.B.I. Murders," "The Boys Next Door" and the PBS/American Playhouse presentations of "the Little Sister," "Concealed Enemies," and "The House of Mirth."
Jenkins grew up in DeKalb, Illinois, and studied theater at Illinois Wesleyan University. He performed in many regional theaters including a 15-year stint at the Trinity Repertory in Rhode Island, where he served as the company's Artistic Director for four years.
