Ed Harris in Enemy at the Gates (2001) ED HARRIS (Konig) can currently be seen in Pollock, the feature film that marks his directing debut and in which he also stars as the pioneering abstract expressionist painter Jackson Pollock. Artist Lee Krasner. Pollock's wife, is played by Marcia Gay Harden. Recently Harris completed filming Buffalo Soldiers on location in Germany and the Fine Line feature The Prime Gig. He starred opposite Anne Heche in director Agnieszka Holland's The Third Miracle and opposite Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon in Stepmom for director Chris Columbus. For the latter performance, together with his performance in Peter Weir's critically acclaimed The Truman Show, he won the 1999 National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also won a Golden Globe Award and received an Oscar® nomination for Best Supporting Actor for The Truman Show. Harris portrayed Gene Kranz in Ron Howard's acclaimed Apollo 13. For that performance. Harris received an Oscar® nomination and won the Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe. He starred opposite Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman in the political thriller Absolute Power and opposite Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage in the Simpson Bruckheimer action blockbuster The Rock, directed by Michael Bay. Harris' other films include Borderline, Knightriders, The Right Stuff The Firm, Glengarry Glen Ross, State of Grace, The Abyss, Jacknife, To Kill a Priest, Walker, Sweet Dreams, Alamo Bay, A Flash of Green, Swing Shift and Under Fire.
