Plot: Lionel Barrymore and Bela Lugosi star in this spine-tingler that stirs supernatural ingredients into a murder mystery.

In a minatory castle, a corpse is discovered. It seems the owner of the abode has not only been murdered, but sucked dry of his blood.

Enter a colorful sleuth. All the clues suggest that vampires are to blame for the grisly killing and, furthermore, that the castle's bowels house the bloodthirsty undead.

Then the visitors to this foreboding domicile see shadowy figures lurking in the corridors. But these fiendish types cannot be vampires because such things do not really exist.

Or do they?
