Marcia Gay Harden in Pollock (2000)

MARCIA GAY HARDEN (Lee Krasner) has recently been teamed with some of the film industry's most exciting actors including Robin Williams, Tommy Lee Jones, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt, and Anthony Hopkins.

In August, Marcia will be seen in Eastwood's much anticipated action-adventure film "Space Cowboys," playing Tommy Lee Jones' love interest. She was recently seen on the big screen in two major motion pictures. She starred opposite Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins in Universal's "Meet Joe Black," and her ingenious pairing with Robin Williams in Walt Disney's "Flubber," helped that film to the top of the box office list for weeks.

The Coen brothers discovered Harden for films, giving her the female lead in their critically acclaimed feature "Miller's Crossing" in which she starred opposite Albert Finney, Gabriel Byrne, and John Turturro. She moved on to the lead in "Late for Dinner," with Peter Berg, and then in "Used People," with Shirley Maclaine, Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates and Marcello Mastrioanni. Ms. Harden also starred in "Safe Passage" with Susan Sarandon and Sam Shepard, "The Spitfire Grill," which won the audience award at Sundance, and Paramount's blockbuster hit "First Wives Club." Alison Maclean's highly acclaimed independent features, "Crush," in which harden starred, was a Cannes Festival hit. A recipient of the Spirit of Sundance Award from the Sundance Film Festival, Harden is touted as a "woman who embodies the true spirit of independent film."

Harden's television appearances include last year's A&E original movie "Small Vices" in which she starred opposite Joe Mantegna. She re-teams with Mantegna for A&E's "Thin Air," which will air in the Fall and will be seen on CBS's "Guilty Hearts" later this year.

Harden graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in theater and continued her training in New York, earning an MFA from the graduate theater program at New York University. Harden previously worked with Ed Harris in the New York Shakespeare Festival premiere production of Sam Shepard's "Simpatico." She was also featured on Broadway in Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Angels in America," which earned her a Tony nomination, a Drama Desk Award , and a Theater World Award for her performance. She also starred opposite Anthony LaPaglia in David Rabe's "Those the River Keeps."

Harden is married to documentary film maker Thaddaeus Scheel and has a two year old daughter, Eulala Grace.
