Plot: Young actress Melinda Howard has just returned to New York from touring in England. Upon her arrival, Melinda becomes involved with two very different men. One is Tom Farnham, a famous dancer/singer who falls in love with the charming Melinda, and becomes her co-star in a musical, "Lullaby of Broadway". The other gent is Adolph Hubbel, an aging, married millionaire whose harmless friendship with Melinda leads to wacky complications when his wife suspects otherwise. But unfortunately, Melinda must also contend with a very serious matter: her actress mother has developed a serious drinking problem. Can Melinda prevent her mom from hitting rock bottom -- and turn her life around in the process?

Many pop standards are performed, including: "Somebody Loves Me", "Just One of Those Things", "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart", and the title tune.
