BILLY CRUDUP will next be seen in Alison Maclean's "Jesus' Son," in which he stars opposite Samantha Morton. He recently completed filming writer/director Cameron Crowe's new movie (which is as yet untitled).
His other film credits include "Princess Mononoke" (voicing one of the lead characters for the U.S. release of the adult-oriented Japanese animated feature film), "The Hi-Lo Country" and "Without Limits" (for which he received the National Board of Review's Award for Breakthrough Male Performance[s] of the Year), "Monument Ave.," "Inventing the Abbotts" (opposite his Waking the Dead leading lady, Jennifer Connelly), "Sleepers," and "Everyone Says I Love You."
On the stage, he most recently appeared at Manhattan's CSC Theater, starring opposite Frances McDormand in Dare Clubb's adaptation of Sophocles' "Oedipus." Crudup made his Broadway debut as Septimus Hodge in Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia," which eamed him the 1995 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Debut Of An Actor, a 1995 Theatre World Award, and Actor's Equity's Clarence Derwent Award for Outstanding Newcomer. His other Broadway appearances include "Bus Stop" and "Three Sisters" (for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination).
The native New Yorker received his Masters Degree in Fine Arts from New York University, and also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
