ROBERT LUKETIC (Director) made his feature film directorial debut in 2001 with the smash hit comedy “Legally Blonde,” starring Reese Witherspoon. The film went on to earn a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Growing up in Australia, Luketic was a prolific filmmaker beginning in his teens. He won his first award at only 15 years old—the Best Film Award at the ATOM Film Festival held at Chauvel Cinema in Paddington. In 1994, he was accepted into the Victorian College of Arts School of Film and Television, one of Australia’s most prestigious film schools. After only one year, he was backed for two consecutive years by sponsors AVID Technology and Samuelson Film Services.

In 1996, Luketic wrote and directed the short film “Titsiana Booberini,” a musical variation on the classic ugly duckling story, for which he won the Queen Elizabeth II Trust Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film. “Titsiana Booberini” also won the Best Film Award at the Aspen Shortsfest, and was chosen to screen at the 1997 Telluride Film Festival and the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. It was also the opening night film for the Brisbane International Film Festival, the Exposure International Film Festival in Queensland, and the St. Kilda International Short Film Festival in Melbourne.

Luketic is currently directing “Monster-in-Law,” a comedy starring Jennifer Lopez as a woman who begins to rethink her engagement when she meets her prospective mother-in-law, played by Jane Fonda. He is also in development on the spy actioner “Matt Helm,” an updated franchise based on the novels written by Donald Hamilton. Other future projects to which Luketic is attached include “Girl Most Likely To,” with Marc Platt producing, and “The Iguana Brothers.”
