Plot: Affable South Florida smack dealer Dante tries to balance his desires for home and family with his business--and with a vengeance-wreaking former associate back from the Big House. A moody, slow-paced, and surreal effort that eschews the sparseness of Gomez's earlier crime sagas ("New Jersey Drive," "Laws of Gravity") in favor of drug-trip atmospherics and weighty religious allegory. Based on Terry Williams's "The Cocaine Kids."
