SCARLETT JOHANSSON (Francesca) received rave reviews and a Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival for her starring role opposite Bill Murray in “Lost in Translation,” directed by Sofia Coppola. Current y. Johansson can be seen portraying the title character in “The Girl With a Pearl Earring,” a film about the Dut:h master painter Johannes Vermeer (Cohn Firth), based on the novel of the same name.
Johansson starred in the critically acclaimed films “The Man Who Wasn’t There,” directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and Terry Zwigoff’s comedy “Ghost World,” for which she won Best Supporting Actress from the Toronto Film Critics.
Johansson attained worldwide recognition for her performance as Grace Maclean, the teen traumatized in a riding accident in Robert Redford’s “The Horse Whisperer.” Other film credits include “If Lucy Fell,” “Just Cause” and “Manny & Lo,” which earned Johansson an Independent Spirit nomination for Best Female Lead.
