Plot: In this curious remake of the 1980 original, serial killers who have been genetically altered with fish DNA escape their captivity and enter the sea, where their mutations are exacerbated by toxic waste. Soon, they land in a coastal town and proceed to murder the men and capture the women for mating purposes. A small band of scientists and local fishermen risk their lives to stop the terror...before it multiplies beyond control.

 While this starts off okay and has better production values than the original it suffers badly because it takes itself way too seriously when it could've used a lighter, more campy approach. ... Quite gory and it recreates some of the best known scenes from the earlier version, but it's just as useless.  -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
