Academy Award-nominated LENA OLIN's (Maharet) remarkable beauty and talent have made her a favorite of audiences and critics alike. She will next be seen in Miramax/Dimension's Darkness opposite Anna Paquin. Olin was most recently seen in Lasse Hallstrom's Chocolat, where her performance garnered much attention, including the British Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. She has also recently starred in Mystery Men, opposite Geoffrey Rush, William H. Macy and Ben Stiller, and in Roman Polanski's The Ninth Gate opposite Johnny Depp.
Olin made her American film debut in the 1988 film The Unbearable Lightness of Being opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. She went on to star opposite Ron Silver and Anjelica Huston on the critically acclaimed Enemies: A Love Story for which she received the New York Film Critics Award for Best Actress as well as an Academy Award nomination.
