International crooks hide a top-secret computer chip inside a toy car, but an airport mix-up lands it in the hands of eight-year-old Alex Pruitt, who's home alone with the chicken pox. Madness and mayhem kick into high gear as the pint-sized hero defends his house against the bumbling bad guys, armed with an outrageous array of ambushes and booby traps.

Producer-screenwriter John Hughes scores the "Home Alone" hat trick with this second sequel to the silly slapstick blockbuster, which now finds savvy school-ager Alex under siege by spies while quarantined at home with the chickenpox. Due to an airport mix-up, the spies' super-secret computer chip finds its way to Alex's quiet, tree-lined street, and only he can prevent its rightful owners from ransacking his house. Bombs away! First-time director Gosnell tempers the mean-spiritedness of the previous films.
