 Twisted reworking of the classic fairy tale is miles away from the 'sweetening' that Disney pulled for its animated feature and because of its stellar set design, eerie and gothic mood, stylish direction and top-notch acting this is an excellently scripted and interesting film that relies on its engrossing script and some pleasingly black-hearted scenes to be a under-appreciated gem of a movie.
