When Stacy Baker's controlling husband convinced her to pose nude for a photograph in 1995, her life's course was forever altered. The picture won her an award in GALLERY magazine's amateur photo contest, and before she knew it, she was on the cover of HUSTLER. The confidence boost this string of successes brought her gave Stacy the courage to escape her abusive marriage and move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an adult actress. Landing in LA, she moves in with Julian, another porn performer, and continues to climb the ranks. Eventually the profession begins to take its toll on her, emotionally as well as physically, resulting in a series of surgeries: a breast implant, then reduction; liposuction; and lip enhancement. Added to this is the troubling internal struggle between the attention-craved Stacy Valentine and the lonely, romantic Stacy Baker. After breaking up with Julian, Stacy visits her hometown of Tulsa, OK, to spend time with her mother, one of her only true friends, and then travels to Europe, where she wins an award as 'Best American Starlet' at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival's Hot D'Or Awards. Soon after, she signs an exclusive deal with VCA, a prominent adult film company, solidifying her rise to the top of the pornographic world, making her dream come true.
