Charles Mulvehill in Proof of Life (2000)

CHARLES MULVEHILL (Producer) who was raised in Honolulu, began his career in 1965 as a production assistant on "Hawaii" and "The Hawaiians." In the next five years, he worked his way up to be head of production with the Mirisch Company.

While there, he supervised "The Landlord," which was directed by Hal Ashby and marked the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration for Mulvehill. He produced Ashby's cult classic "Harold and Maude," and served as his Associate Producer on "Being There," "Coming Home," "Bound For Glory" and "The Last Detail." He later co-produced Ashby's "Eight Million Ways To Die."

In the l980s, Mulvehill teamed with Bob Rafaelson to produce "The Postman Always Rings Twice," starring Jessica Lange and Jack Nicholson. He continued his association with the actress on "Frances," for which he associate produced, and on "Sweet Dreams," which he co-produced.

He went on to be the Associate Producer on "Swing Shift," starring Goldie Hawn and directed by Jonathan Demme, and Co-producer on "The Milagro Beanfield War," directed by Robert Redford. As Executive Producer, he oversaw Norman Jewison's "In Country," starring Bruce Willis, and also co-produced "The Godfather, Part III," working closely with Francis Ford Coppola and Fred Fuchs.

In the past ten years, Mulvehill executive produced "Frankie And Johnny," starring Michele Pfeiffer and Al Pacino, and reteamed with Francis Ford Coppola and Fred Fuchs to produce "Bram Stoker's Dracula." He is also credited with "Only You," starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Marisa Tomei. "Malice," starring Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman. "City Hall," starring Al Pacino, "Red Corner," starring Richard Gere, and most recently, "Mickey Blue Eyes," starring Hugh Grant.

Mulvehill and Taylor Hackford first worked together on "Dolores Claiborne," starring Kathy Bates and Jennifer Jason Leigh. "Proof Of Life" is their second collaboration.
