Plot: Reeling from a divorce, ex-upper class woman Iris Prue (Field) heads to the coast of Maine and takes up work as a housekeeper for the wealthy, spiteful Paula Tanner (Davis), who has already gone through a slew of housekeepers. Jealous of Iris' ability to lead a normal life while maintaining friends, Tanner attempts to make her life a living hell, only to finally develop a grudging friendship.
