JASON SCHWARTZMAN (King Louis XVI) made his motion picture acting debut as Max Fischer, an eccentric high school sophomore in the acclaimed comedy RUSHMORE opposite Bill Murray for director Wes Anderson. His performance garnered a nomination for “Most Promising Actor” from the Chicago Film Critics Association. He has since completed work on several feature films and recently he left his position as lead drummer for the Los Angeles-based band, Phantom Planet. Epic Records released their band’s second studio album “The Guest” in February 2002, which was followed by a 14-month tour with Incubus.
Schwartzman’s recent credits include SHOPGIRL a love triangle with Claire Danes and Steve Martin, based on Martin’s novel, BEWITCHED with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell and a starring role in David O. Russell’s existential comedy I ♥ HUCKABEES with Dustin Hoffman, Naomi Watts, Jude Law and Lilly Tomlin.
Schwartzman made his television debut in the critically acclaimed comedy “Cracking Up” written by Mike White and co-starring Molly Shannon. Schwartzman has also starred in SPUN with Brittany Murphy, Patrick Fugit, John Leguizamo and Mena Suvari. Other film credits include Roman Coppola’s directorial debut C.Q., SIMONE starring Al Pacino and Catharine Keener and the ensemble comedy SLACKERS.
