Plot: "The Dentist" appreciates perfection so much, he's willing to kill for it. Dr. Alan Feinstone leads a charmed life. He has a beautiful home and a beautiful wife. His Beverly Hills clients model posh fashions and possess the abundant wealth customary of the area. The teeth and gums of these rich folk, however, are not as well manicured as their automobiles or clothing. Into their mouths Alan plumbs -- whirring drill in hand. And this esteemed, if certifiably psychotic, oral surgeon will not punish any dental indiscretions lightly.

Enjoyable horror/thriller works well thanks to the good script and Bernsen who's never been better. Genre director Yuzna keeps it going from a good script co-written by his Re-Animator partners Stuart Gordon and Dennis Paoli along with Charles Finch. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
"The Dentist" is a surprisingly involving, suspenseful psycho pic... (Yuzna) did a magnificent job, throwing in plenty of Hitchcockian elements and sick humor to make this the best medical psycho film of all time, superior even to "Dr. Giggles."-- (eSplatter.com)
