So what do you do when you're passed over for promotion by the company you've been with for the last 20 years? Well, George Dupler (Gene Hackman) tosses a chair through an unopened window, punched out one of his superiors, and is demoted to night manager of a large, seedy drugstore patronized by drifters, weirdos, and petty thieves. He then leaves his wife, Helen (Diane Ladd) and has an affair with Cheryl (Barbra Streisand), a sexy younger woman who has previously been involved with his own son, Freddie (Dennis Quaid). If that's not enough, his new mistress is his wife's sister's late husband’s brother's wife. And that's just some of the fun that goes on All Night Long, a romantic comedy about the triumph of an ordinary man who loses his job and his wife, and lives happily ever after.
