TOD WILLIAMS’ debut feature as director/screenwriter was The Adventures of Sebastian Cole, starring Adrian Grenier and Clark Gregg. The Adventures of Sebastian Cole premiered at the 1998 Toronto International Film Festival and was an official selection of the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. The film received two Independent Spirit Award nominations for Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Male (Clark Gregg).

A native of New York City, he studied painting and literature at Bard College and Columbia University. Venturing out to the West Coast, he worked as a stringer for the Los Angeles bureau of The New York Times before attending the American Film Institute.

For his next directorial effort, Williams is adapting Ernest Hemingway’s To Have and Have Not for producers Laura Bickford and Benicio Del Toro (at Focus Features), with Del Toro slated to star. In 2002, in partnership with his cousin Tod Harrison Williams, he formed the production company Culpan/Harrison and produced The Big Bend (which his cousin directed and which he appeared in).

Known as Kip, Mr. Williams is the son of celebrated architect Tod Williams.
