The versatile Irish actress FIONNULA FLANAGAN plays the mysterious Mrs. Mills, a dutiful servant who claims to understand the connections between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Flanagan was most recently seen in Michael Winterbottom's "With or Without You," Kirk Jones' "Waking Ned Devine" and Claudia Florio's "Commedia." She will next be seen in "The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood."
Born and raised in Dublin and trained at the prestigious Abbey Theatre, Flanagan came to the U.S. in 1968. She made her debut in "Ulysses" and is perhaps best known for "James Joyce's Women," in which she played the part of six different women who had a profound influence on Joyce's life. Besides giving an award- winning performance, she went on to write, adapt and produce the piece for the stage and subsequently the feature film.
Her recent film credits also include Terry George's acclaimed "Some Mother's Son." On the small screen, she has been seen in such telefilms as "For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story" and "A Secret Affair," as well as the series "To Have and To Hold."
