A group of young people living in Paris cope with romantic and professional problems. Ada (Helena Bonham Carter) is a fashion designer dissatisfied with her boyfriend Paul, a screenwriter. Paul's partner Guido is also having problems with his girlfriend Stephanie. Ada has more trouble when Lise, another fashion designer, begins to rival her for jobs and affection. A charming film about life and love in the big city, serving as a French equivalent to Woody Allen's films.
2.
A Woody Allenesque comedy about a group of Parisian friends and their romantic hangups.
Ada (Helen Bonham Carter) is an English fashion designer living with screenwriter Paul. They have moved in to a new home which is a bit above their means. Although they have been together for some time they're not really happy nor are they communicating their dissatisfaction to each other. Guido is Paul's partner in writing and he's having severe relationship problems of his own with Stephanie. Needless to say, Guido and Paul are seriously late in delivering their new script to Alphonse, a young director with diminishing patience. Into this picture emerges Lise, an up and coming fashion designer. Lise derails Ada's professional career by snagging a major assignment and tops it off by making romantic advances at Paul. On the fringes of this group are various characters fighting for attention among these self-absorbed over-achievers.
The lives, loves, deceptions, triumphs and tragedies of this circle of friends becomes more and more confusing, convoluted and entangled leading to a surprising finale that completely blurs the boundaries of fiction and reality.
