TIM BLAKE NELSON (Marshal Paris) is an acclaimed actor, writer, and director. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he graduated from Brown University and the Juilliard Theatre Center. He subsequently appeared in a long list of feature films including “Dead Man’s Walk,” “This is My Life,” “Donnie Brasco,” “The Thin Red Line,” “Minority Report,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” “The Good Girl,” “Cherish,” “Holes,” “Wonderland,” and “A Foreign Affair.” He will soon be seen starring in “Max and Grace,” “The Moguls,” “The Big White,” and “Southland Tales.”
Nelson has acted extensively on the New York stage. He was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed “Beard of Avon” portraying William Shakespeare at the Manhattan Theatre Club. He also starred in productions of “Oedipus,” “Troilus and Cressida,” “Le Bourgeois Avant-Garde,” “Mac Wellman’s Dracula,” “The Amazon’s Voice,” “An Imaginary Life,” “The Baltimore Waltz,” “Mad Forest,” “The Innocents Crusade,” “Richard III,” and “Twelfth Night.”
In addition to acting, Nelson wrote and directed the film “Eye of God,” which was screened at the 1997 Sundance Film Fesitval before being released theatrically. He also wrote and directed “The Grey Zone,” starring Harvey Keitel, Steve Buscemi, and Mira Sorvino, which was based on his award-winning play. In addition to starring in the Coen Brother’s hit “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” Nelson recorded a song for the film’s soundtrack, which won him a Grammy Award®.
