Plot: The debut feature by French director Bertrand Tavernier (CLEAN SLATE), THE CLOCKMAKER stars Philippe Noiret as the title character, Michel, a man who begins to reexamine his life when he learns that his son is the principal suspect in a murder case. Asked for help by the police, Michel realizes that he knows little about his son, and begins to search out his friends, hoping to learn something about the son who lived with him most of his life. Based on a novel by Georges Simenon, co-scripted with New Wave alumni Aurenche and Bost.
